Bob and Lynne Christensen's life together has taken a number of interesting twists and turns.
Bob is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has developed implants that address temporomandibular joint ( TMJ ) problems. After marrying on St. Patrick's Day in 1972, Bob and Lynne shared the work of managing Bob's surgery practice, and later ran a cattle ranch in Grants Pass, Oregon, where Lynne learned to milk cows, bale hay, raise beef, and shear lambs. There were also "missionary surgery" trips to Mexico, Hondurus, and Spain to perform complicated TMJ surgeries.
The Christensen's founded Covenant Marriage Ministry in 1983 to help couples whose marriages are in crisis. Through this ministry, they have co-anchored a daily television program called "Building The Kingdom In Families," authored several books, and produced videos that emphasize the value of entering into a covenant marriage. Both have also spoken to church groups in the U.S. and abroad, encouraging couples to work through the inevitable difficulties that come with marriage and to cherish their relationship.
In 1988, Bob and Lynne founded TMJ Implants, Inc., a medical device company that supplies TMJ implants to hundreds of hospitals around the world. Profits from the company help fund the work of Covenant Marriages Ministry.
Bob describes Lynne as "The Proverbs 31 wife". The love that this couple shares spills over to their equally beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
